His comments have since sparked a vibrant online debate, with some social media users applauding his call for cultural revival, while others argued that the growing dominance of English in schools and social settings has made it increasingly difficult for children to learn and use their mother tongues.

Edochie went further to highlight the importance of reconnecting with Omenaani the traditional Igbo way of life describing ancestors as “guardian angels” and urging Nigerians to return to their cultural foundations.

Cultural advocates have echoed his sentiments, stressing that language remains central to identity and continuity. They warned that neglecting indigenous tongues could lead to a gradual erosion of heritage and history among younger generations.
