Speaking during an interview with broadcaster Morayo Afolabi Brown, Abraham said she has reached a point in her career where she no longer feels the need to seek approval or compromise her values to remain recognised in Nollywood.

The award-winning actress explained that her current position was built through years of hard work, personal growth and the support of people who believed in her talent throughout her journey.

Abraham said her success has allowed her to become more intentional about the roles she accepts and the people she works with, adding that being selective is not a sign of pride but a reflection of experience and gratitude.

“I can’t kiss anybody’s ass anymore because God has blessed me with a platform where I can decide who I want to work with. No more begging for acceptance,” she said.

The actress’s comments highlight the changing nature of her career, from her early days navigating the challenges of the industry to becoming one of Nollywood’s recognised filmmakers and performers.

Throughout her career, Abraham has expanded beyond acting into film production, building a reputation for creating commercially successful projects while developing her own creative identity.

Her latest remarks also touch on a wider conversation within Nollywood about professional growth, self-worth and the importance of artists having greater control over their careers.

Rather than viewing independence as a rejection of collaboration, Abraham stressed that her approach comes from wanting to work with people who respect her craft and share similar creative ambitions.
