Nollywood actress Sarah Martins has publicly defended fellow actor Yul Edochie following the conclusion of the 2026 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards, stating that the actor deserved recognition for his contribution to the film industry.

Reacting after the prestigious awards ceremony held over the weekend, Martins acknowledged her differences with Edochie but insisted that his acting abilities remain exceptional.

“Hate aside, Yul Edochie is a fantastic actor, and he deserves a win. AMVCA, you people can do better,” Martins wrote in a social media post while congratulating other award recipients.

The statement quickly attracted attention online as fans and industry observers debated Edochie’s place in Nollywood and his long-standing claims about his acting prowess.
