Nollywood actress Remi Surutu has publicly endorsed President Bola Tinubu for re-election in the 2027 general election, speaking at the launch of EKO57, a support group mobilising public backing for the president’s second term, in Lagos on Sunday, March 15, 2026.

During the event, Surutu dismissed criticisms directed at her political stance, noting her unwavering support for Tinubu since his tenure as Lagos State governor.

“A day before the election in 2023, they said to me that it was Asiwaju that I was following, who killed my child. But I care less. I still went on the second day to vote. Your vote is your right. Don’t let anybody deceive you. Don’t let anybody scare you,” she stated.

The actress affirmed her commitment to campaigning for Tinubu and urged Nigerians not to be swayed by opposition narratives.

“I have said it myself, I am not backing out. I am going to campaign for him and vote for him. And he has my vote, and I am voting for him. Nothing happens to you when you go on your straight line with good hearts,” Surutu added.

Surutu praised Tinubu for his quiet handling of national issues, attributing the country’s challenges to citizens’ actions and attitudes rather than leadership failures.

She also highlighted the president’s active family involvement in governance.

“This man does not sleep. The wife is always travelling all over the place. The son, too, is moving around. How many politicians have you seen his son moving around?” she said.
