The actor made the clarification in a recent video, where he also apologised to fans who were surprised by his earlier announcement about quitting acting. He stressed that his decision was not born out of a lack of passion but from exhaustion after years of intense production schedules.

Ray Emodi said he had worked on hundreds of productions over several years without taking breaks, describing the experience as physically and emotionally draining.

“I acted since 2017 till last year ending. That’s about 300 productions… Eight years, no vacations, no rest. I was tired,” he said.

He explained that stepping back became necessary in order to rediscover his passion for acting and avoid total burnout.

“If you do something too much, you get tired. I needed a break to find the love for acting again,” he added.

The clarification comes after earlier reports suggesting that the actor had fully quit Nollywood, a claim that sparked concern among fans and colleagues in the entertainment industry.

Ray further expressed regret over how his announcement was received, apologising for any emotional distress caused to his supporters.

“Waking up one day to say I’m not acting again felt like I swindled you guys. I’m sorry for playing with your emotions,” he said.
