Rachael Okonkwo, the Nollywood actress, shared a deeply emotional message in Lagos as Catholics and families around the world marked Mother’s Day, reflecting on the life and sacrifice of her late mother.

The actress wrote a heartfelt note accompanied by photographs of her mother, describing her as a woman who gave everything even when life offered very little in return.

Rachael said her mother became the family’s strength, provider and source of comfort after the death of her father, taking on responsibilities that shaped their survival and upbringing.

The actress added that her mother passed away at the age of 53, describing the loss as painful and deeply unfair for a woman who gave so much.
