Patience Ozokwo 68th birthday brought thanks and a plea for prayer as the Nollywood veteran known as Mama G marked the day on 14 September

Nollywood veteran Patience Ozokwo, popularly known as Mama G, marked her 68th birthday on Monday, 14 September 2026, and asked fans to pray for her health and a long life. The request came in a video circulated as birthday messages, gifts and greetings arrived online.

“Hey Mama G Lovers, today is my birthday, and I want you to wish me a wonderful birthday,” she said. “You have been a blessing to me. Thank you for showing me love all these years, praying for me and blessing me in diverse ways. I appreciate the alert; you don’t know how much I love and appreciate our relationship. Pray for me and ask God to keep me alive and sound, so that I can get old and age gracefully. Thank you, and God bless you.”

A separate written note thanked God for long life, good health, a sound mind and “the knowledge of Him,” and blessed the people she calls MamaG Lovers. She pointed well-wishers to *Family at War* on her YouTube channel, PatienceOzokwoTV.

Clips from the day showed a different register from the stern matriarch roles that made her famous. Patience Ozokwo danced in wrappers and sunglasses while friends clapped and filmed. Colleague Ebelle Okaro was among those who joined the tribute.
