Nollywood Blockbuster “A Tribe Called Judah” Premieres In Nine French-Speaking Countries

Breaking records across Nollywood, the blockbuster film “A Tribe Called Judah” has expanded its reach to nine French-speaking countries.

Film One Entertainment, the designated distributor in Nigeria, shared this exciting news on Instagram on Wednesday, January 19, 2024, stating that the movie is set to captivate audiences in a total of 13 regions across these nine countries.

The selected regions for screening include Bessengue and Yaounde in Cameroon, Godope and Mide in Togo, Idrissa Quedraogo and Yennega in Burkina Faso, M’Pita and Poto Poto in Congo, Rebero in Rwanda, Teranga in Senegal, Tombolia in Conakry, Wologuede in Cotonou, Benin, and Mandjiozangue in Gabon.

This distribution, starting on Friday, January 19, 2024, is orchestrated by Canal Olympia Showtimes Cinemas. Produced by the acclaimed filmmaker Funke Akindele, the film initially debuted in Nigeria in December, then ventured to Ghana and the United Kingdom, expanding its viewership to a total of 12 countries.

According to the Cinemas Exhibitors Association of Nigeria (CEAN), “A Tribe Called Judah” has achieved a remarkable local gross of ₦1,296,686,092 as of January 14, 2024. This outstanding performance solidifies its position as the highest-grossing Nigerian movie to date.

The movie revolves around five brothers—Jide Kene Achufusi as Emeka Judah, Timini Egbuson as Pere Judah, Uzee Usman as Adamu Judah, Tobi Makinde as Shina Judah, and Olumide Oworu as Ejiro Judah—joining forces to execute a daring heist to save their mother, Jedidah Judah, portrayed by Akindele.

Co-directed by Adeoluwa Owu, the stellar cast includes Ebele Okaro, Uzor Arukwe, Nse Ikpe Etim, Genoveva Umeh, Faithia Williams, Nosa Rex, Greg Ojefua, Ibrahim Yekini, Boma Akpore, Paschaline Ijeoma Alex, Etinosa Idemudia, Juliana Olayode, and Yvonne Jegede.

As of now, “A Tribe Called Judah” continues to captivate audiences across cinemas in Nigeria, offering an engaging and unforgettable cinematic experience.
