Monalisa Chinda utility bills outcry has sparked conversations online after the Nollywood veteran took to Instagram to voice frustration over the constant rise in water and electricity charges.

On Thursday, the actress described the fees as “beyond crazy” for resources she believes should be freely available. She expressed particular concern for average Nigerians living below the poverty line who struggle to afford such costs.

“Lord, the Light (electricity) and water that you created, you gave to us freely, they are down here charging us crazily for it… I mean beyond crazy. How are people living beyond the poverty threshold managing? How do we navigate through this crisis? Never giving up,” she wrote.

Chinda highlighted water as a God-given natural resource that has been heavily monetized, stressing that the burden is becoming unbearable for many households.

Her remarks echo a growing public outcry over rising utility bills in Nigeria, where inflation and cost-of-living pressures have worsened.
