Nollywood actress and filmmaker Mary Njoku has questioned the excitement surrounding Lamborghini ownership in Lagos, asking luxury car owners how they enjoy the vehicles amid the city’s heavy traffic and road conditions.

The actress shared her thoughts in a humorous Instagram post, saying she struggled to understand the appeal of owning a high-performance sports car in a city where traffic congestion, speed bumps and busy roads are common.

Mary Njoku said she found herself thinking about the subject during a sleepless night, describing Lamborghini ownership as a mystery she wanted to understand.

“I genuinely don’t get the hype. In Lagos, where exactly are you people driving these things? From one speed bump to the next? Into traffic?” she asked.

The actress jokingly wondered whether the attraction was more about appearance and status than speed, suggesting that some owners might simply enjoy the experience of having an exotic vehicle.

“Maybe the whole point is to look fast while sitting in traffic,” she wrote.

Mary Njoku acknowledged that her view could be influenced by personal preference, adding that she might simply not understand the appeal of such luxury cars.

She also admitted that affordability could be part of the reason she viewed the trend differently.

“Maybe I’m just a hater. Or maybe I just can’t afford one,” the actress joked.
