The Kunle Remi AMVCA joke clarification follows a wave of online reactions after the actor shared a video from the 2026 Academy Awards, popularly known as the Oscars, showing actor Michael B. Jordan receiving an engraved award shortly after his win.

In his initial reaction, Kunle Remi suggested that AMVCA winners do not receive their plaques immediately, a claim that quickly gained traction and sparked debate across social media platforms.

Responding in a follow-up video, Kunle Remi described the comment as playful banter, stressing that he is familiar with how the AMVCA award process operates.

“I was just messing around, and it was all a joke,” Kunle Remi said, noting that the comment had been taken more seriously than intended.

The actor went further to reaffirm his respect for the awards platform, describing the AMVCA as the only African ceremony that can be compared to the Oscars, a remark that added a notable dimension to the ongoing conversation.

As part of the Kunle Remi AMVCA joke clarification, the actor also confirmed his involvement in the upcoming edition of the awards, revealing that he will be present and actively working with the organisers.

Industry sources have since highlighted that AMVCA winners receive their plaques on stage before proceeding to a designated media room, where engraving is completed in real time while winners engage with the press.
