Jim Iyke Kate Henshaw birthday message controversy has finally been addressed by the veteran Nollywood actor, who says his words were sincere and misinterpreted.

Speaking during an interview, Iyke responded to criticism that trailed his emotional and poetic birthday message to longtime friend and colleague, Kate Henshaw. The post, which stirred debate online, was deemed by some as suggestive — a claim he strongly denied.

“I meant everything I said in that post. I rarely say something I don’t mean,” Iyke stated firmly. “These were words from a deeply personal place. I’ve known Kate for over 20 years. We’ve grown together as friends — more like siblings.”

The actor described the message as a “wordplay in a comfort zone” meant only for those who understand the depth of their bond.

He clarified there was nothing sexual or romantic implied in the message and dismissed speculation about their relationship.

“This is someone I can speak my truth to and get honest advice from. It’s a genuine friendship,” he explained. “I don’t live by public opinion. Interpret it however you like — that’s your business.”
