Iyabo Ojo Mohbad justice advocacy sparks threats, cyberbullying, and fear for her safety, but actress vows to continue seeking truth despite intimidation

Nollywood actress and activist Iyabo Ojo has raised serious concerns for her safety, stating that her demand for Mohbad justice has exposed her and her family to threats, intimidation, and cyberbullying.

Sharing her ordeal on Instagram, Ojo revealed, “It is, therefore, not surprising to now see coffins inscribed with my name, barefaced videos threatening my life and properties, and further confirmation that my family and business enterprise remain endangered.”

Her statement follows her invitation by the Nigeria Police Force’s National Cybercrime Centre regarding an earlier live video. Ojo clarified she never accused any individual of the singer’s death, only called for a transparent investigation.

“I never affirmed that Mohbad’s death was caused by any specific individual. Otherwise, I would not have taken the legal and investigative actions I did,” she explained.

Through her Pinkies Foundation, Ojo wrote to the Lagos State Governor, Attorney General, and Inspector General of Police, requesting an independent inquest. She also met with security officials, including late DCP Ayilara and members of the Lagos Assembly.

Despite these lawful efforts, Ojo said she and her children have endured ongoing harassment. She described receiving a threatening letter days before her daughter’s wedding in Tanzania, warning she would “go through hell” in three months.

Recently, her office was destroyed in a fire. While not directly linking the incident to her activism, Ojo noted the emotional toll it has taken.

“I wish to clarify that I never accused anyone of being responsible for Mohbad’s death. I was simply reacting emotionally to disturbing videos and using my platform to call for justice,” she said.
