The completion of filming marks the latest chapter in the Glamour Girls franchise, which has remained a notable name in Nollywood since its origins in the 1994 classic produced by Kenneth Nnebue.

The original film explored themes of wealth, relationships and survival within Lagos society and featured prominent stars of the era.

The franchise was revived in 2022 with a remake released on Netflix, also produced by Play Network Studios.

That version introduced a new ensemble cast including Nse Ikpe-Etim, Sharon Ooja, Joselyn Dumas and Toke Makinwa, bringing a modern interpretation to the long-standing story.
