Bisola Aiyeola, Uzor Arukwe and others attend EVI film premiere in Lagos as Judith Audu unveils her new Nollywood production

Nigerian filmmaker Judith Audu on Sunday, 22 March 2026, hosted the premiere of her new feature film EVI at IMAX Cinemas in Lagos, drawing a strong turnout of Nollywood stars, industry executives and entertainment stakeholders for the high-profile EVI film premiere Lagos event.

The premiere attracted notable personalities including Bisola Aiyeola, Uzor Arukwe, Ruth Kadiri, Omowumi Dada and AY Makun, alongside other prominent figures from across the Nigerian entertainment industry.

The event opened with a red carpet session before guests moved into a packed cinema hall for a private screening that stretched into the night, reflecting the growing anticipation around the EVI film premiere Lagos showcase.

Industry stakeholders present included NFVCB Executive Director Shaibu Husseini, QEDng publisher Olumide Iyanda, Baba Rex, Mercy Aigbe, Kamo State, Michael Ejoor, VJ Adams and Elozonam, further underscoring the wide industry support for the production.

Speaking at the event, filmmaker Judith Audu expressed gratitude to her cast and crew, revealing that the production faced significant financial uncertainty after a major investor withdrew just before filming commenced.

She described the completion of the project as nothing short of a “miracle,” a moment that drew applause from attendees.

The film, produced under Judith Audu Productions in collaboration with Switch Visuals Productions, Signet Rings Productions and NOI Productions, was directed by Uyoyou Adia and features an ensemble cast led by Osas Okonron alongside Uzor Arukwe, Omowumi Dada, Ibrahim Suleiman and Waje Iruobe.

EVI follows the story of Evi-Oghene Donalds, a talented musician whose career collapses after her record label terminates her contract without compensation.

The narrative explores resilience, redemption and self-discovery as she rebuilds her life in the face of hardship.

The production also features original music that plays a central role in shaping the emotional tone of the story, with its official soundtrack released ahead of its cinema debut scheduled for 27 March 2026.
