Nollywood actress and African Action Congress governorship candidate Doris Ogala has declared confidence in her bid to become the next governor of Abia State, saying her political ambition is driven by what she described as divine direction.

Ogala made the statement in a video circulating on social media, where she urged Abia residents to support her candidacy ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

The actress-turned-politician said she believes her emergence as governor has already been determined, describing the ambition as a mandate she attributes to God.

“Vote Doris Ogala as your Governor, you don’t have choice. Doris will be your governor, you don’t have choice. God has said it, so shall it be. It’s very simple, why don’t you get that?” Ogala said.

Doris Ogala declaration has generated reactions online, with some supporters praising her confidence while others questioned her certainty about the outcome of the election.

Ogala, who is seeking the Abia governorship seat under the African Action Congress platform, is among the politicians preparing for the 2027 electoral contest in the state.

Before entering politics, Ogala built a career in Nollywood, appearing in several Nigerian films and gaining recognition as an actress.

Her latest comments highlight the growing involvement of entertainers in Nigerian politics, as several public figures continue to transition from creative industries into political roles.
