Businesswoman Desola Afod has warned against the growing culture of performing for social media, urging individuals to remain authentic despite online pressure.

Desola Afod shared the message on her Instagram page, where she criticised the tendency to stage moments for public approval.

She noted that such behaviour can be misleading and may hinder real personal development.

“Oju aye ti ba aye yin je. Chai. Stop doing things just for the camera or media. It’s not always helpful, and it can distract you from real growth. Stay true to yourself,” she wrote.

The comment follows a series of candid posts in which she addressed criticism and public perception.

Desola Afod stated that her reality away from social media differs from assumptions often made about her online presence.

She also dismissed claims that she seeks validation, stressing that her focus remains on her personal life and responsibilities.

According to her, projecting an image for approval holds little value compared to genuine progress.
