Baba Ijesha Iyabo Ojo claim sparks debate as the actor denies abuse allegations and makes fresh statements in a new podcast interview

Nollywood comic actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka, widely known as Baba Ijesha, has denied past allegations of child abuse while making a controversial claim involving fellow actress Iyabo Ojo during a recent podcast interview in Lagos, Nigeria, on Sunday, 2026.

The Baba Ijesha Iyabo Ojo claim emerged during his appearance on the Talk to B podcast hosted by actress Biola Adebayo, marking his first major public interview since his release from prison in November 2025.

During the interview, Baba Ijesha insisted that he has never molested any child, rejecting allegations made against him in 2021 by comedienne Damilola Adekoya, popularly known as Princess, who accused him of sexually assaulting her 14-year-old foster daughter.

The actor was later convicted by a Lagos State High Court in 2022 and served a prison sentence before regaining freedom last year.

Recounting his relationship with Iyabo Ojo, Baba Ijesha claimed that the actress once entrusted her children, Priscilla and Festus, to his care when they were younger, a statement that has since stirred renewed reactions online.

He also alleged that the widely circulated video linked to the case was orchestrated, expressing a sense of betrayal and emotional strain over how events unfolded.

Despite the claim, Baba Ijesha maintained a measured tone towards Iyabo Ojo, describing her as someone he would not speak ill of, even as tensions from the past case continue to shape public perception.

Iyabo Ojo had been a vocal supporter of Princess during the 2021 case and had publicly called for justice, a stance that contributed to the widespread attention the trial received at the time.
