Justice Emeka Nwite delivered the ruling after counsel to the police, Victor Okoye, informed the court that the charge had been withdrawn in line with Section 108 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, 2015, following an alleged resolution of the dispute between the parties.

The development led to the immediate dismissal of the case, marking a decisive end to the proceedings in which Angela Okorie had previously been re-arraigned on seven counts of cybercrime-related allegations.

Okorie’s counsel, Emerie Onyemelukwe, did not oppose the withdrawal application, telling the court: “That is the position, my lord.”

The judge thereafter struck out the charge and formally discharged the actress.

Court records show the case stemmed from a petition linked to fellow actress Mercy Johnson-Okojie, with allegations that Okorie engaged in online statements described as defamatory and constituting cyberstalking.

She was also accused of collaborating with another individual to publish the contested claims on social media platforms.
