17th BON Awards winners revealed as ‘Seven Doors’ and ‘Farmer’s Bride’ dominate Lagos ceremony, celebrating Nollywood’s top talents and technical excellence

Femi Adebayo’s hit series ‘Seven Doors’ and Adebayo Tijani’s ‘Farmer’s Bride’ were the biggest winners at the 17th Best of Nollywood (BON) Awards, held at the Wole Soyinka Centre for Arts and Culture.

The awards celebrated Nollywood’s finest talents, with ‘Farmer’s Bride’ claiming the night’s most prestigious honours, including Movie of the Year and Director of the Year.

‘Seven Doors’ emerged as the evening’s most prolific winner, sweeping four major technical categories: Best Production Design, Best Special Effect, Best Series, and Best Cinematography.

The film’s success highlights the growing recognition of technical excellence in Nigerian cinema.

Lead acting awards went to Gideon Okeke and Padita Agu for their roles in ‘Black Out’, taking home Best Actor and Best Actress, respectively.

Veteran actress Mercy Aigbe won Best Supporting Actress for ‘My Mother Is a Witch’, while Taye Ayimoro took Best Supporting Actor for ‘Son of the Soil’.

The memorable on-screen chemistry of Tobi Bakre and Folu Storms in ‘Red Cycle’ earned them Best Kiss, while ‘Abanisete’ received Best Indigenous Film, underlining the importance of cultural storytelling.

The awards also recognised emerging talent, with Razaaq Adoti winning Most Promising Actor for ‘Son of the Soil’ and Una Idoko taking Most Promising Actress for ‘I Am Anis’.

Special recognition awards were presented to Steve Ayorinde, Funke Akindele, and Dr Shaibu Husseini for their contributions to the industry.
